Matthan

Son of Eleazar and father of Jacob (who was father of Joseph, husband of Mary), listed in Matthew’s genealogy of Jesus. Matthan is among the final links in the genealogical chain connecting King David to Jesus Christ. Living just two generations before Joseph, he represents the culmination of centuries of God’s providential care over the messianic lineage.
