Eliud

Son of Achim and father of Eleazar, listed in Matthew’s genealogy of Jesus. Eliud is part of the quiet succession of Davidic descendants who bridged the gap between the return from exile and the coming of Christ. His inclusion in the genealogy testifies that God was working through ordinary, unrecorded lives to bring about His greatest act of redemption.
