Post-Exile · In the line to Jesus

Azor

Son of Eliakim and father of Zadok, listed in the genealogy of Jesus in the Gospel of Matthew. Azor is part of the largely unrecorded generations between Zerubbabel and Jesus, a period when the Davidic line continued quietly under foreign rule. Though history records little about him, his place in the genealogy testifies to God’s faithfulness in preserving the messianic lineage.
