Deeper Insight

Paul writes this from prison. He isn't telling the Philippians that anxiety is sin — he's telling them where to put it. The phrase "in everything" refuses to sort worries into worthy and unworthy. And "with thanksgiving" is the hinge: gratitude re-frames the ask before it leaves your mouth…

Far more than the absence of conflict. Shalom means wholeness — every part of a life in its right place and working as it should.

ORIGINAL LANGUAGE

Hebrew שָׁלוֹם (šālôm), from the root š-l-m — "to be complete, to be sound, to make whole again."

ETYMOLOGY

The same root gives Hebrew its word for repayment — restoring what was owed until nothing is missing. Peace, in this language, is a debt settled.

Our Story

Why I made BibleKey

Last year, I found Christ. It didn't happen all at once — it happened in moments. Beats. Small experiences that built on each other. At first, I was just showing up for my wife Meagan. But somewhere along the way, I realized I wasn't just there with her anymore. I was there with something far more powerful, something profoundly true.

That's the thing about real truth — it doesn't just appear. It reveals itself, simmering inside you all along.

When I finally recognized and acknowledged that I believe in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, I wanted to immerse myself in His teachings. So I bought a Bible and started reading. Genesis 1 — I picked up my phone to look something up. Genesis 2 — same thing. I thought, surely there's an app where I can just tap a verse and get insights. Nope. An app with a family tree so I can see who all these people are? Nope. An app that lets me follow cross-references and see how verses connect? Nope.

So I said: I have to make this. And that's why BibleKey exists.
