A wealthy and righteous landowner in Bethlehem who served as the kinsman-redeemer for Ruth and Naomi. Boaz noticed Ruth gleaning in his fields and showed her extraordinary kindness, instructing his workers to leave extra grain for her. When the nearest kinsman declined to redeem Naomi’s land and marry Ruth, Boaz stepped forward. His marriage to Ruth produced Obed, grandfather of King David. Boaz exemplifies grace, generosity, and the beautiful theology of redemption.
