Manasseh reversed all his father’s reforms, filling Jerusalem with innocent blood. Yet remarkably, when taken captive to Babylon in chains, he humbled himself profoundly and God restored him. His repentance stands as one of the Bible’s most dramatic examples of grace—if even Manasseh could be forgiven, no one is beyond redemption.
And in his distress, Manasseh sought the favor of the LORD his God and earnestly humbled himself before the God of his fathers.
