Jesus acknowledges their Abrahamic descent (sperma Abraam) but notes the contradiction: despite being Abraham's seed, they are trying to kill Him because His logos (word) has no chōra (space/room/place) within them.

Language and setting

The term chōra (space/room) suggests that Jesus' word finds no receptive ground in their hearts. Physical descent from Abraham is insufficient without spiritual receptivity to the word Abraham himself received.
