His brothers basically say: Nobody does miracles in secret if they want to be known. If you can do these things, show the whole world!
Their advice sounds like common sense, but it comes from a place of not yet understanding who Jesus really is or what He came to do.
Jesus' brothers continue pushing Him toward public spectacle.
The world's playbook says to seek attention and build a platform. Jesus' playbook says to seek the Father's will and trust His timing. These brothers had not learned that yet.
The brothers argue that no one seeking public recognition (en parrēsia einai) acts in secret (en kruptō), pressing Jesus to show Himself (phanerōson seauton) to the world (kosmos).
The imperative phanerōson (manifest/show) echoes the language of divine revelation, but the brothers use it in a worldly sense. Their logic assumes that messianic power should seek maximum visibility.
Jesus' brothers continue their appeal, using the language of public manifestation in a way that reveals their worldly understanding of His mission.
The brothers' logic is impeccable by human standards: power should be displayed. But Jesus operates by a different logic where divine timing trumps human strategy and the cross precedes the crown.

3So Jesus’ brothers said to Him, “Leave here and go to Judea, so that Your disciples there may see the works You are doing.

5For even His own brothers did not believe in Him.
