Zebulun

The tenth son of Jacob and sixth son of Leah. Jacob prophesied that Zebulun would ‘live by the seashore and become a haven for ships.’ His tribe settled in the region between the Sea of Galilee and the Mediterranean. Isaiah prophesied honor for the land of Zebulun, fulfilled when Jesus began His ministry in this very territory.

Again Leah conceived and bore a sixth son to Jacob. “God has given me a good gift,” she said. “This time my husband will honor me, because I have borne him six sons.” And she named him Zebulun.

Children born in rivalry and heartbreak. But these names — Reuben, Judah, Joseph — will become the twelve tribes of a nation.

Genesis 49:13

Zebulun shall dwell by the seashore and become a harbor for ships; his border shall extend to Sidon.

Jacob speaks over each son with prophetic weight. Judah receives the scepter. The lion will come from his line.
