After Jesus had entered the house, the blind men came to Him. “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” He asked. Matthew 9:28 · Berean Standard Bible
When they came to Him, Jesus asked, 'Do you really believe I can do this?' They answered, 'Yes, Lord, we do.'
Jesus asked them point-blank because He wanted their faith to be conscious and declared, not just a desperate hope.

Jesus honors honest, declared faith. He wants you to know what you believe before He acts.
Jesus tests their faith privately, asking 'Do you believe I am able (dynamai) to do this?', and they affirm 'Yes, Lord (Nai, Kyrie).'
Jesus delays and moves indoors before responding, perhaps testing the persistence and genuineness of their faith.

27As Jesus went on from there, two blind men followed Him, crying out, “Have mercy on us, Son of David!”

29Then He touched their eyes and said, “According to your faith will it be done to you.”
30And their eyes were opened. Jesus warned them sternly, “See that no one finds out about this!”
