Blessed are those who make peace, because they'll be called God's children. Peacemakers don't just avoid conflict; they actively build bridges and heal divisions.
Making peace is hard work. It means stepping into tension, not running from it. But that's exactly what God does, and His children do the same.
Jesus continues the Beatitudes.
If you want to look like God, make peace. It's the family business.
Peacemakers (eirenopoioi) are those who actively create shalom, comprehensive peace and wholeness, not merely those who avoid conflict. Being called 'sons of God' (huioi theou) means bearing God's family likeness.
The Roman Empire claimed to bring pax Romana through military force. Jesus defines true peacemaking as a divine activity that marks its practitioners as God's children.

11Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me.
