Blessed are those whose hearts are clean and undivided, because they will see God. A pure heart isn't a perfect heart; it's an honest one, fully turned toward God.
You don't need to have it all together. You need to be real. God reveals Himself to people who come with nothing to hide.
Jesus continues the Beatitudes.
The greatest reward imaginable: seeing God. And it's promised not to the impressive, but to the sincere.
The 'pure in heart' (katharoi te kardia) echoes Psalm 24:4, describing those with undivided loyalty and sincerity before God. The promise of seeing God (opsontai ton theon) is the ultimate eschatological blessing (cf. 1 John 3:2).
In Jewish theology, no one could see God and live (Exodus 33:20). Jesus promises the impossible: the pure in heart will experience direct, intimate encounter with God.

The beatific vision, seeing God face to face, is the ultimate fulfillment of humanity's deepest desire and the goal of all spiritual life.
6Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.

9Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.
10Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
