The scholarly reading

The King (basileus) — Jesus now explicitly identified as King — invites the sheep: 'Come, you who are blessed (eulogēmenoi) by My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world (apo katabolēs kosmou).' The kingdom's preparation 'from the foundation of the world' reveals God's eternal plan of salvation predating creation.

Language and setting

The language of inheritance (klēronomēsate) connects to Old Testament covenant promises. The blessed inherit what was prepared before time, indicating divine election and predetermined grace.
