Everywhere Jesus went — villages, towns, countryside — people brought the sick and begged just to touch the edge of his cloak. And everyone who touched it was healed.
Remember the woman who touched his cloak and was healed? Her story spread, and now everyone is reaching out the same way. One woman's faith became a model for thousands.
Mark summarizes the widespread healing ministry of Jesus.
One woman's desperate touch started something. Now entire regions are reaching for Jesus' cloak. And every single person who reaches out is healed. That's the ripple effect of one act of faith.
Mark's summary notes universal healing wherever Jesus went — villages, towns, and countryside. The sick are laid in marketplaces (agorais) and beg to touch 'the fringe of his cloak' (tou kraspedou tou himatiou) — likely the tassels (tzitzit) commanded in Numbers 15:38-39. All who touched were healed (esozonto, 'saved/made whole').
The garment-touching motif connects to the hemorrhaging woman (5:27-28), whose faith now becomes paradigmatic for an entire region. The verb sozo ('save/heal') carries both physical and spiritual dimensions.
