She came up behind Jesus and touched the edge of His cloak. Instantly, her bleeding stopped. After twelve years, healing came in a single moment.
She did not ask for an appointment or wait for her turn. She just reached out in faith and touched His cloak. Sometimes all it takes is one desperate, honest reach toward Jesus.
Luke describes the woman's bold act of faith.
She pushed through the crowd from behind, reached out, and touched just the edge of Jesus' robe. Twelve years of suffering ended in that single, faith-filled moment.
She approaches from behind (opisthen) and touches the kraspedon ('fringe/tassel') of Jesus' himation ('cloak'), likely the tsitsit (ritual tassels) commanded in Numbers 15:38-39. The healing is parachrēma ('immediately'), demonstrating instantaneous divine power.
