The angels reminded the women of Jesus' own words — that He had to be handed over, crucified, and rise again on the third day.
Jesus had already told them this would happen. The pain they went through wasn't outside God's plan — it was part of it.
The angels are quoting Jesus' earlier prophecy about His own death and resurrection.
Everything happened exactly as Jesus said it would. Even when life felt like it was falling apart, a bigger plan was unfolding all along.
The angels quote Jesus' passion prediction: the Son of Man must be delivered to sinners, crucified, and rise on the third day, using the divine necessity term dei ('it is necessary').
This recalls Luke 9:22 and 18:31-33, where Jesus explicitly predicted His suffering. The term dei signals theological necessity rooted in God's redemptive plan.
