Jesus doesn't hide. He shows up every single day to teach in the very place where His enemies have the most power. That takes extraordinary courage.
Luke describes the tense standoff: Jesus teaching openly while religious leaders plot against Him.
Picture the tension: Jesus walks into the temple each morning knowing they want Him dead, and He teaches anyway. His enemies watch, waiting for their chance. But not yet.
Jesus teaches daily in the temple while the chief priests, scribes, and leaders (hoi prōtoi tou laou) actively plot to kill Him. The imperfect tense (ēn didaskōn, ezētoun) indicates ongoing, continuous action on both sides.
A dramatic tension emerges: Jesus boldly teaches in the very space controlled by those who want Him dead. The temple becomes the stage for a power struggle between Jesus' authority and the religious establishment.
