Jesus stops right there and tells the crowd to bring the man to Him. When the man gets close, Jesus asks him a question. He doesn't just heal from a distance — He draws near.
The crowd tried to push this man away, but Jesus pulls him close. That's how Jesus works — He stops for the people others overlook.
Jesus halts everything and personally calls for the man the crowd was trying to silence.
Picture it: a massive crowd on the move, and Jesus stops the whole thing for one blind beggar. He doesn't just acknowledge him from afar — He brings him in close. You matter to Jesus.
Jesus stops (statheis) and commands that the man be brought to Him. Then He asks a question — not for information but to draw out the man's faith and give him agency in his own healing.
Jesus' deliberate stopping contrasts with the crowd's desire to move on. The command to bring the man near reverses the crowd's attempt to push him away. Jesus' question dignifies the man by making him an active participant.
Jesus halts the procession, directs the crowd to bring the man forward, and addresses him directly.
The whole procession grinds to a halt because of one persistent voice. Jesus doesn't just hear the man — He stops everything, calls for him, and draws near. The one the crowd tried to dismiss becomes the center of attention.

40Jesus stopped and directed that the man be brought to Him. When he had come near, Jesus asked him,
41“What do you want Me to do for you?”
42“Receive your sight!” Jesus replied. “Your faith has healed you.”
