Elizabeth says, 'The very moment your greeting reached my ears, my baby jumped for joy inside me!'
Even in the womb, John is already doing his job: pointing to Jesus with joy. His whole life, from before birth to death, will be about pointing people to the Savior.

A baby in the womb recognizes the Savior in another womb. Joy is the first response to Jesus' presence, even before words exist. That tells you something.
Elizabeth explains that the moment Mary's greeting reached her ears, the brephos (baby) en agalliasei (in exultation/joy) eskirtesen (leaped) in her womb, providing the evidence for her prophetic declaration.
Elizabeth interprets John's prenatal response as confirmation of Mary's status. The agalliasis (exultation) is the same word used in verse 14 for the joy John would bring.
Elizabeth explains the physical sign that confirmed the spiritual reality.
The unborn John's joyful leap is both a physical event and a prophetic sign. The forerunner recognizes the Messiah before either has drawn their first breath.
