One of Jesus’ most devoted followers, delivered by Him from seven demons. Mary Magdalene traveled with Jesus throughout His ministry and was present at the crucifixion when most disciples had fled. She was the first person to see the risen Christ on Easter morning—Jesus appeared to her in the garden near the empty tomb and sent her to tell the apostles. Her role as the first witness of the resurrection earned her the title ‘apostle to the apostles’ in early church tradition.
