Son of Kohath and father of Moses, Aaron, and Miriam—three of the most important figures in Israel’s history. Amram married his father’s sister Jochebed, and their children would lead Israel out of slavery, establish the priesthood, and guide the nation through the wilderness. He lived 137 years and his family’s legacy shaped the entire trajectory of Israel’s relationship with God.

These were the families of the Levites: and Amram’s wife was named Jochebed. She was also a daughter of Levi, born to Levi in Egypt. To Amram she bore Aaron, Moses, and their sister Miriam.
A new generation is counted. The old has passed away. The promise continues through fresh faces.
