The Righteous King

The king will be so respected and beloved that people will honor him constantly, across generations, as long as creation lasts.
Fear here means reverence and respect, not terror. Ancient people wanted a king they could trust and admire. The mention of 'sun' and 'moon' is shorthand for 'forever'—as long as these things exist, his legacy will endure.
The psalm writer expressing the people's hope that this king will be genuinely honored, not just obeyed.
This foreshadows the eternal nature of Christ's kingdom, where He is worshiped not because He forces it, but because His character and justice win genuine allegiance across all nations and all time.
