The request to be 'hidden' (סָתַר, sātar) paradoxically invokes concealment as a form of divine protection, echoing imagery later developed in passages like Psalm 27:5 and Isaiah 49:2.
The same individual lamenter, now specifying the nature of the threat—not merely personal enemies but an organized faction working in concert.
