He's pursued God with everything he's got, and now he's asking God to be kind to him based on the promises God made. His wholehearted seeking is meeting God's heart to give.
Notice the movement: he gave all his heart to seeking God, and now he asks God to respond with grace. He's not demanding; he's appealing to God's nature and God's own word.

Jesus taught the same principle: 'Seek and you will find... ask and it will be given to you.' The pursuit of God and the receiving of God's kindness are intimately connected.
The psalmist's wholehearted seeking of God's face (intimate encounter with His presence) is paired with petition for grace according to His promise, indicating that intimacy with God motivates conformity to His word.
The phrase 'sought Your face with all my heart' (bikashti panecha bechol libi) employs panim (face)—denoting direct encounter with divine presence, a pursuit familiar from the tabernacle and temple traditions. The earnestness ('with all my heart') suggests spiritual intensity rather than perfunctory practice.
A supplicant in an advanced stage of spiritual maturation, seeking not merely compliance but relational communion with God.
This anticipates the New Testament promise in Matthew 5:8 ('Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God') and reflects the Christian Platonic tradition in Augustine and later Bonaventure, wherein the ascent toward God's face becomes the trajectory of the entire spiritual life, culminating in the beatific vision.
