Language and setting

The term פְתַיִּים (petayim) denotes not stupidity but malleability—the young person not yet formed in moral wisdom, standing at the crossroads. Wisdom's direct address to this demographic reveals the pedagogical assumption underlying the entire book: human character is not fixed, and the invitation to wisdom assumes the possibility of radical reorientation.

Significance
