Language and setting

The verbatim repetition of verse 4's invitation (מִי־פְתַי יָסוּר־הֵנָּה) is intentional: the test of wisdom consists not in hearing appeals but in discerning the quality of what is being offered. The text assumes that students cannot judge invitations by their surface similarity alone; they must develop the capacity to perceive hidden consequences and true sources. This is why chapters 2-8 precede this test—they build the discernment necessary to distinguish a trap from a treasure.
