In Proverbs, the mouth and the tongue are constantly mentioned as indicators of character. A wise woman doesn't simply know what's right; she can articulate it, teach it, and help others understand it. You're seeing someone whose influence extends through her words—they carry weight because they carry wisdom.

The Patristic commentator Didymus the Blind noted that this verse presents feminine wisdom as pedagogical authority, a recognition that would inform early Christian understanding of women prophets and teachers.
