The phrase נֶפֶשׁ־בְּרָכָה (nephesh-berakah, literally a soul of blessing) describes someone whose essential character radiates beneficence—whose presence and actions create blessing in their environment. The parallel structure shows that refreshing others (שׁקה, irrigating, a metaphor for revitalizing) produces reciprocal refreshment. In the honor-shame culture of the ancient Near East, such a person accumulated social capital and divine regard simultaneously.
