This is the mission statement for every follower of Jesus. Not just for the eleven on that mountain—for you too. Everyone, everywhere, is invited in.
Jesus gives His followers their ultimate assignment: bring His message to the whole world.
The mission Jesus gave wasn't to build an exclusive club—it was to invite the entire world in. Every nation, every language, every person. Nobody is outside the reach of this invitation.
The imperative 'make disciples' (mathēteusate) of all nations (panta ta ethnē) is the central command, with baptism in the Trinitarian formula as the initiating rite of the new covenant community.
The Trinitarian baptismal formula (eis to onoma tou Patros kai tou Huiou kai tou Hagiou Pneumatos) is the earliest explicit threefold divine name in the New Testament, foundational for later creedal formulations.
