When the chief priests and elders pile on their accusations, Jesus says nothing at all.
Hundreds of years earlier, the prophet Isaiah described a suffering servant who would be silent before His accusers — like a lamb before the shearer. Jesus is living that prophecy in real time.

He could defend Himself perfectly. He could dismantle every lie. Instead, He says nothing — because His silence speaks louder than any words.
When accused by the chief priests and elders, Jesus offers no defense (ouden apekrinaio), maintaining the prophetic silence of the suffering servant (Isaiah 53:7).
