The Last Supper

Jesus answers: you have said it yourself. But I tell you — from now on you will see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of God and coming on the clouds of heaven.
In His lowest moment — bound, beaten, on trial — Jesus makes the highest claim any human being has ever made: He is the Son of God, and one day His judges will answer to Him.
Jesus speaks with breathtaking authority, turning the courtroom upside down with His declaration.
The accused becomes the judge. The One on trial is actually the One who will judge them all. And He tells them so, right to their faces.
Jesus affirms His identity with 'you have said so' (sy eipas), then escalates dramatically by combining Daniel 7:13 (Son of Man on clouds) with Psalm 110:1 (seated at God's right hand), claiming divine authority and future judgment.
By merging two distinct messianic texts, Jesus claims both present enthronement at God's right hand and future coming in judgment — His judges will one day stand before Him.
Jesus speaks under oath, declaring His divine identity by combining two foundational messianic prophecies.
In the moment of His greatest humiliation, Jesus makes the most exalted claim possible — His accusers will see Him enthroned as cosmic Judge.
62So the high priest stood up and asked Him, “Have You no answer? What are these men testifying against You?”
63But Jesus remained silent.
64“You have said it yourself,” Jesus answered. “But I say to all of you, from now on you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power and coming on the clouds of heaven.”
65At this, the high priest tore his clothes and declared, “He has blasphemed! Why do we need any more witnesses? Look, now you have heard the blasphemy.
