The 'sign of the Son of Man' (sēmeion tou huiou tou anthrōpou) appears in heaven, provoking mourning (kopsontai) among all earth's tribes (phylai). Jesus alludes to Daniel 7:13-14 — the Son of Man coming 'on the clouds of heaven' with 'power and great glory' (dynameōs kai doxēs pollēs).
