He tells them, 'Go to the village ahead, and you'll find a donkey with her colt. Untie them and bring them to Me.'
Jesus knows exactly what's there before they arrive. Every detail is under His control.
Jesus gives very specific instructions that show He already knows what's waiting.
He sends them with precise directions. When they get there, everything will be exactly as He said.
Jesus gives precise instructions: they will find a donkey and her colt tied; they are to bring both to Him — demonstrating prophetic foreknowledge.
The mention of both a donkey and colt reflects Matthew's literal reading of Zechariah 9:9, which uses Hebrew parallelism.
