Jesus says every plant not planted by His Father will be pulled up by the roots. False teaching may look established, but it won't last.
Don't be intimidated by religious systems that seem powerful but aren't rooted in God's truth. He will sort it all out in the end.
Jesus reassures the disciples with a metaphor about God's judgment.
Jesus' response is bold: the Pharisees' traditions are not from God, and they will not endure. Only what God plants survives.
Jesus uses agricultural imagery: pasa phyteia ('every plant') not planted by the heavenly Father will be ekrizōthēsetai ('uprooted'). This metaphor draws on prophetic tradition (Isaiah 60:21; Psalm 1) and implies divine judgment on unauthorized religious systems.
The plant metaphor distinguishes between what originates with God and what is merely human. Pharisaic traditions, though claiming divine authority, are here identified as human plantings.
