Joseph woke up and did exactly what the angel said. No arguing, no hesitation. He married Mary and took on the responsibility of raising a child that wasn't his by blood.
Think about the courage this took. Joseph chose obedience to God over what the neighbors would think. That's the kind of faith that changes everything.

Joseph's quiet obedience is one of the most underrated acts of faith in the Bible. He said yes to a plan he didn't fully understand.
Joseph's immediate obedience upon waking demonstrates the righteous character established in verse 19. The verb paralambano (took/embraced) indicates he completed the marriage ceremony, publicly accepting Mary and her child.
By taking Mary as his wife, Joseph accepted potential social disgrace and legal responsibility for a child that was not biologically his.
