This is the beautiful ending: Jesus doesn't leave them alone. He works with them every step of the way. And that same promise extends to you today.
Mark closes his Gospel with the disciples' faithful mission.
They go from hiding in fear to preaching everywhere. And they're not alone. Jesus is working with them, through them, confirming every word. The story isn't over. It's just beginning.
The disciples obey the commission, preaching pantachou (everywhere), with the Lord synergountos (working together with them) and confirming the logos (word) through accompanying semeia (signs).
This concluding verse encapsulates the entire book of Acts in summary form. The divine-human cooperation (synergountos) in mission becomes the paradigm for the ongoing church.
The narrator provides the final summary of the disciples' obedient mission.
Mark's Gospel ends not with an ending but a beginning. The disciples go everywhere preaching, and the risen Lord continues His work through them, confirming the word with miraculous signs.
