Joseph buys a linen cloth, takes Jesus' body down from the cross, wraps it in the cloth, and places it in a tomb carved out of rock. Then he rolls a large stone in front of the entrance.
This was Joseph's own expensive tomb. A prophecy in Isaiah said the Messiah would be with the rich in His death, and here it's fulfilled through Joseph's generosity.

Joseph gives Jesus the burial a king deserves. He wraps Him tenderly in clean linen and lays Him in his own tomb. It's a final act of love for someone who seemed to have lost everything.
