Betrayal Begins
And while they were reclining and eating, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, one of you who is eating with Me will betray Me.” Mark 14:18 · Berean Standard Bible
While they were eating, Jesus dropped a bombshell: 'One of you eating with Me right now is going to betray Me.'
Sharing a meal together was sacred in that culture. To betray someone you broke bread with was the deepest kind of treachery.
