That evening after sunset, people brought to Jesus everyone who was sick or troubled by evil spirits.
They waited until sundown because the Sabbath rules said they couldn't carry anyone during the day. The moment the sun dipped below the horizon, the floodgates opened.
Mark describes the wave of people who came to Jesus as soon as the Sabbath ended.
Picture it: the sun sets, and suddenly the streets fill with people carrying their loved ones toward Simon's house. An entire town, desperate and hopeful, converging on the One they'd heard could help.
After sunset (marking the end of the Sabbath and its travel/work restrictions), the townspeople brought (epheron) all their sick and demon-possessed to Jesus.
The timing 'after sunset' is significant: Sabbath law prohibited carrying burdens, so the people waited until the Sabbath officially ended at sundown before bringing their sick. Mark's 'all' (pantas) emphasizes the comprehensive nature of the need.
Mark narrates the mass gathering that occurred once the Sabbath restrictions ended.
The contrast is striking: during the Sabbath, one exorcism and one healing; after sunset, the entire town. The news from the synagogue created an avalanche of desperate hope that could not be contained by a few more hours.
30Simon’s mother-in-law was sick in bed with a fever, and they promptly told Jesus about her.
31So He went to her, took her by the hand, and helped her up. The fever left her, and she began to serve them.

33and the whole town gathered at the door.
34And He healed many who were ill with various diseases and drove out many demons. But He would not allow the demons to speak, because they knew who He was.
