Where it sits in the story

You do not have to fight for your own honor. Jesus did not, and look how the story ended. The Father vindicated Him beyond anything human defense could achieve.

The scholarly reading

Jesus declares He does not seek (zētō) His own doxa (glory), but there is One who seeks it and judges (krinōn), deferring vindication entirely to the Father.

Language and setting

By deferring His vindication to the Father, Jesus models the principle He taught in verse 18: the one who seeks the sender's glory rather than his own is trustworthy. The Father will judge those who dishonor the Son.

Jesus declines to defend His own honor, entrusting vindication to the Father who both seeks His glory and judges those who reject Him.

Significance

Jesus does not fight for His own reputation. He hands that to the Father. The one who insulted the Son will answer to the Father who loves the Son. That is a far more fearsome prospect.
