Philip found Nathanael and told him excitedly, 'We've found the one Moses and the prophets wrote about — Jesus from Nazareth, Joseph's son!'
Philip connected the dots between what he'd read in Scripture and the person standing in front of him. The Bible was no longer just text — it had a face.
Philip rushes to share his discovery with his friend Nathanael.
The excitement is contagious — Philip couldn't wait to tell Nathanael. When you discover that the Bible's promises have a name and a face, you want everyone to know.
Philip finds Nathanael and announces that they have found the one described by Moses in the Law and by the prophets — Jesus of Nazareth, son of Joseph.
Philip's identification of Jesus as 'the one Moses wrote about' connects to Deuteronomy 18:15-18 (the prophet like Moses). The description 'son of Joseph' reflects the public understanding of Jesus' parentage.
Philip tells Nathanael they have found the prophesied Messiah and identifies Him as Jesus of Nazareth.

45Philip found Nathanael and told him, “We have found the One Moses wrote about in the Law, the One the prophets foretold—Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”
46“Can anything good come from Nazareth?” Nathanael asked.
47When Jesus saw Nathanael approaching, He said of him, “Here is a true Israelite, in whom there is no deceit.”
