Language and setting

The promise 'they will fight against you but will never overcome you' (נִלְחַם עָלֶיךָ וְלֹא־יוּכְלוּ לְךָ) returns the opening reassurance to its resolution. The Hebrew verb יוּכַל (they will not be able) appears throughout Jeremiah's experience: he is imprisoned (37:21), beaten (20:7-10), isolated, yet he persists and ultimately survives to witness and record. His words outlast his opponents' power. The closing formula 'I am with you to deliver you' (אָנֹכִי אִתְּךָ נְאֻם־יְהוָה לְהַצִּילְךָ) returns to verse 8's foundational promise, creating narrative closure.
