The Hebrew עֵד (ed)—often translated 'mist' or 'spring'—remains textually ambiguous, which has generated centuries of interpretive discussion from the Septuagint onward. What matters theologically is that God provides hydration through subterranean sources, demonstrating divine providence operating through natural systems.
