Dry Bones

As Ezekiel walks through the valley, he sees countless bones scattered everywhere—and they're completely desiccated, with no moisture or life remaining.
The detail about dryness matters. These aren't fresh bones; these represent people long dead, forgotten, hopeless. For exiles watching their nation disintegrate, this is exactly how they feel—dried up, forgotten, beyond help.
