The verbs 'raised up' (ēgeiren) and 'seated' (ekathisen) form an exaltation sequence mirroring Christ's own exaltation narratively (the Ascension) and theologically. To be seated 'in the heavenly realms' (en tois epouraniois) places believers not geographically but covenantally and eschatologically in the sphere where Christ's sovereignty operates. The phrase 'in Christ Jesus' (en Christō Iēsou) appears repeatedly in Ephesians—what biblical scholars call 'union with Christ,' denoting both forensic standing and mystical incorporation.
