One of the twelve apostles, sometimes called ‘James the Less’ to distinguish him from James the son of Zebedee. Though less is recorded about him than the other James, he faithfully served among the Twelve throughout Jesus’ ministry, witnessed the resurrection, and was present at Pentecost. Early church tradition associates him with missionary work in Egypt and Palestine.
